American Herring Gull?
This eye-catching gull has been present since late September 2009 in the city park of Bergen, western Norway. It is not very large, and the rather fine bill and general proportions indicate that it is female. All plumage-characteristics seem to fit smithsonianus; under- and uppertail coverts, belly, tail, tertials and wing coverts (GC's too extreme?). Hopefully somebody can comment on if American Herring Gulls can look like this.
